XXI Winter Olympics - Vancouver 2010

2010 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXI Olympic Winter Games or the 21th Winter Olympics,  held on 12-28 February 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and some matches held in the city resort, close to Whistler. Olympic and Paralympic Games, they organized by the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC).

2010 Winter Olympic is the third time for Canada as the host and the first for the province of British Columbia. Previously, Canada has hosted the event in 1976 at the Summer Olympics in Montreal and in 1988 at the Winter Olympics event in Calgary. This is the first time for athletes National Hockey League (NHL) play in this event after the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, in 1998

In accordance with Olympic tradition, Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan, has received the Olympic flag from the closing ceremony of Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, in 2006. Flag has flown since February 28, 2006, with a special ceremony, and will remain hoisted at Vancouver City Hall to the Olympics closing ceremony.

The number of teams who have registered on the National Olympic committee for the XXI Winter Olympics - Vancouver 2010 event until now has not been established, but it has been estimated to be more than 80.
